Dear Terra Nova Pools (AKA – Donny)
I wanted to thank you so much for your professionalism. I am most definitely going to recommend you to anyone who wants a pool or spa. I never once was worried about the job getting done. I’ve heard horrible stories about people getting pools. Some of the comments were: “Once you sign a contract and they’ve dug the hole, you won’t hear from anyone for months, or they quote you 3 months and it takes 8 months”. None of this happened to me due to your professionalism and expertise in the business. You were always available, you were always on time to the site, you were a hands-on contractor, one that could be trusted to keep his word. I never felt nervous or uneasy about your choices in sub-contractors, and any decision on your design. Everything you said, you did. You are a “Man of your word”! I have the utmost respect for you. The job was done ahead of schedule and exceeded my expectations. The spool is beautiful thanks to you and your team of professionals. On behalf of my family to your family, thank you so much for everything.
Sincerely,
Pam Vecchi
Hi Donny. Hope you and your family are well. Please feel free to stop by anytime and check out the pool…thanks for going the extra mile. It truly made a difference. The pool is absolutely beautiful! We really are enjoying the peace and tranquility it gives us. Thanks for everything.

The following was written by a former client in an e-mail response to questions from a prospective client.
1. Satisfaction with the work? I'd give the project a 10 on the construction process and finished product.
2. Did he keep to the projected schedule? We heard all kind of stories that pool builders may not schedule the different phases properly and that causes delays so we were extra focused on this. Donny told us it would take 12 weeks and it took just about 11 1/2 weeks total. There were very few days that nothing was being done. When we did experience down days, Donny would always advise us prior to it happening due to the process of curing, delivery, etc. - in every case, he kept us informed.
3. Did he stick to the contract terms and costs? We were told that he was very good at delivering at the price quoted. We made changes along the way as we got new ideas , and he was very flexible with us. Change orders were reasonably priced. Had we not made changes along the way, the cost would have been exactly what he quoted. My suggestion is to be creative. As you pool takes shape, you will have all kinds of ideas, run them by Donny and ask what he thinks. He is very creative. Our pool was a total free form design. We had such a small space to work with but if you look at the pool today, you would think the house was build around the pool, it just fits so well in the space.
4. How did he deal with changes and corrections? We ended up with the "building inspector from hell" who I though was just being mean to us. Donny worked with this guy and went to speak to his boss as well in order to move the project forward. We did have to meet most of the requirements that the inspector added - which by the way - were not required for any other pool on our street. But Donny was terrific, he kept assuring us that he would work it out and not to worrry. And he did go the extra mile to make it work.
5. Did he resolve any problems? He took care of everything. Along the way, we hit a few snags with rerouting gas lines, etc. but he took care of it all. If the contractors made a mistake, Donny got them out to make the correction asap. We made the water feature builder a little mad because we kept wanting the color to be more brown, but he and Donny did not complain. Donny always said, I want you to be happy so until you are, let's keep working on it until we get it to your satisfaction. I can be a real anal guy. I took lots of pictures. When the work was done for the day, I would inspect the work - looking for problems, short cuts, etc. To his credit, his contractors were all very good at what they did, professional and very much aware of the scope of the project and how they fit into the process. If you look at the before and after pictures, you will probably wonder how we fit it all in. Note that our pool is not large, so his crew hand dug the hole. He was the only contractor that was willing to do this. In fact, he honestly said that it is cheaper for him to hand dig a small pool vs tearing down a wall to get the bobcat in. I liked his honesty.
