Supervision is the Key

The pool building process is a basic series of sequential events performed by different trades. The true key to building a custom pool that will meet its potential and last a lifetime, is supervision. At Terra Nova Pools, we keep our total volume of "open" pools (pools under construction) to a minimum, so each job can have the proper supervision. Most large pool building companies invest all their resources at the beginning of the process (sales) and then turn the job over to the sub-contractors with little or no supervision. Their aim is volume; not quality.

Donny Terranove, Designer / Owner

Donny Terranove was born and raised in Orange County, California. After graduating High School in Huntington Beach, he attended the University Of California @ Santa Barbara where he received a BA in History. He spent his early twenties in education (teacher), with summers spent working in the pool industry. In his late twenties he left education and went to work full-time in pool design and construction. He was employed as a designer and manager by one of the largest pool construction companies in the nation, and later as a Senior Designer at a custom pool design firm, before venturing out on his own.

He currently resides in Huntington Beach, with his wife Heather (a second grade teacher at Peterson Elementary) and two twin daughters (Ava and Zoe).
